This webpage contains important information on conditional and alternate offers of admission.

What's a Conditional Offer of Admission?

Most offers of admission are conditional, which means you must satisfy certain conditions to enrol in your program. Read your offer of admission letter carefully to determine if your offer of admission has any conditions to it.

Satisfying Your Offer Conditions

Make sure your final grades meet the conditions outlined in your offer of admission. If you do not meet the conditions, your offer of admission will be revised to another program or rescinded

If you plan to take additional courses to upgrade your academic record and satisfy your offer conditions, you must let the Recruitment and Admissions Office know.

Upgrading Through Summer School (Ontario High School Applicants)

If you plan to attend summer school to upgrade your courses and satisfy your offer conditions, you must let us know by submitting the Summer School Registration Notification form. It is your responsibility to make sure your updated grades are also updated in your OUAC account by August 12, 2024.

Upgrading Through Spring and Summer Courses (All Other Applicants)

If you plan to enrol in spring or summer courses to complete your current program or upgrade your academic record, you must let us know by emailing chooselaurier@wlu.ca. Once you have accepted your offer you will no longer be able to upload documents to the portal. It is your responsibility to email us your unofficial final grades by August 12, 2024. We will respond to your email and let you know your deadline to submit your final official documents.

How to Meet Your English Proficiency Condition

There are 2 ways to provide evidence of your English proficiency and meet your English-proficiency condition.

  1. Submit a minimum score from an English-language test or academic English program. View instructions to submit your score.
  2. Show us that you studied in an English-language school system full time for at least 3 years and without taking any ESL (English as a Second Language) courses. Submit one of the following to satisfy this requirement. We reserve the right to request an English-language test upon reviewing your documents.
    • Submit a copy of your official transcript showing that you have studied in an English-language school system for at least three years.
    • Submit an official copy of a Credit Counselling Summary from your high school showing that you have studied in an English-language school system for at least three years.
    • Ask your guidance counsellor or a member of your school’s staff to confirm that you have studied in an English-language school system for at least three years. They must send an email to documentsubmission@wlu.ca from their work email address. In this email, they should confirm the number of years you have studied in an English-language school system and they must include your name and Laurier ID number.
